DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 3: Two regional units of FGN have condemned the reported “unlawful meeting held at K Basa Village” in the name of the emergency Tatar Hoho without the consent of the Kedahge.
“Because of this meeting the general Naga public was bound to be misguided and confused over the reported statement in the local dailies of 26th Sept 2023,” stated a press release issued by the Ao Region Govt. FGN.
It stated the Ao Region Govt. upholds the plebiscite 16th May 1951, which endorses the Naga Independence declaration on Aug 14, 1947.
“We shall continue to work in support of Naga sovereignty under the leadership of Gen (Retd) Thinoselie M. Keyho and Eno. Namrikiu the Acting Kedahge of the Federal Government of Nagaland”, it stated.
In another statement, the Rengma Region Govt. stated that it was never aware of the September 23 meeting.
“It was shocking news to find out that the said meeting was unconstitutional. Whatever the developments over the reported meeting, the Rengma Region Govt. shall ever support the NNC and FGN upholding the 14th Aug 1947 declaration of the Naga Independence and the plebiscite of 16th May 1951.
“The Rengma Region Govt. shall continue to work for the nation under NNC President Gen (Retd) Thinoselie M. Keyho and Eno. Namrikiu the Acting Kedahge, Federal Government of Nagaland”, it stated.
