2 days workshop on peace building and SDG 3 & 4 held

Dimapur, November 15: National Foundation for India (NFI) under the project ‘Leaving No One Behind: Building Pathways for Peace in the North East via Engagement of Civil Society and Youth Leaders’, organized a 2-day workshop on November 8 and 9 on Peace Building and Sustainable Development Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages and SDG 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls at St Joseph University in collaboration with the Department of Social Work. The workshop’s goal was to reduce violence in institutions, communities, and the environment. It also aims to promote healthy living and equality for all while working together to achieve the SDGs. The workshop was more activity-based and practical in the hope that it would have a greater impact on the youth.

Katini, the Field Coordinator, presented the project’s objectives and purpose during the workshop’s opening session. She discussed the importance of youth participation and collaboration in peacebuilding in order to achieve the goals.

Jenpu Rakho Rongmei, Chief Functionary of Can Youth, discussed the significance of youth participation in a dialogue process that can contribute to the community through innovative ideas strategy.

Lairing Dau Jigdung of Can Youth, who also spoke at the event, emphasised the importance of gender equality and women’s rights.150 students, faculty members, and members of the Can Youth Organization attended the workshop. (Page News Service)
