2-day Aainball coach training held

Nagaland News

Dimapur, April 9: At the initiative of Nagaland Aainball Association (NABA), a 2-day Aainball coach training was held from April 8 to 9 at Signal Angami in Dimapur.
Aainball is a physical game based on colours, concentration, and coordination. The 2-day training event registered 48 participants.
According to IPS officer Sandeep M Tamgadge, the chief advisor to NABA, lots of uniformed services in the country have incorporated aainball into their training regime.
“The State of Gujarat has introduced aainball as part of training curriculum in all its battalions and police forces. Indian Navy as well as Indian Army has taken up the sport as part of their training curriculum.
“And the major reason that the uniformed-forces consider this sport to be part of their training curriculum is the combination of the colours and the concentration that you need to have”, he said.
He expressed hope that the just-concluded training programme would help promote the sport in the State.
Kuzholuzo Nienu, MLA and President of NABA, said that though the game had originated from Morocco in 2006, it has yet to gain popularity in the NE States-notwithstanding its inclusion in training regimes of uniformed-services.
“So, on trial basis we have brought it to Nagaland”, he said, adding that that they would be introducing more training programmes in the future.
Two master trainers from Assam conducted the training.
