Kohima, June 6: The first sponsorship programme of N.Theyo Foundation for Theological Education was held on June 6 at Hotel Pine Conference Hall, Kohima.
N Theyo Foundation for Theological Education is meant for three years degree course (Bachelor of Theology/ Bachelor of Divinity and Master of Divinity.
The two beneficiaries (Rs.1.50 lakh each in three installments) for this year, includes Sekhono Kezo (for Bachelor of Divinity) and Rupfusato Theyo (for Master of Divinity).
Foundation chairman Dr. Keveduyi Theyo stated this Sponsorship Programme was a dream of his parents to sponsor theological students of Theyizumi (Baptist) out of their savings.
He called upon two candidates to be committed in equipping themselves with the Bible knowledge and stand firm and deliver the word of God with the Holy Spirit.
Thenyizumi Baptist Church senior pastor Thepuzhoyi Theyo invoked blessings of God and delivered word of gratitude and shared briefly about the life of N.Theyo and wife who are no more but they are still alive with their good works left behind.
Mezivolu T. Therieh chaired the programme and shared about the concept of the Foundation with the motto “Fulfilling God’s Plan” and the logo of Acorn (Oak Tree) which was her father’s favourite tree having a meaning of stability, longetivity, strength and endurance.
N.Theyo was the first Christian convert of Thenyizumi village, Phek district. He was former Cabinet minister of the Govt of Nagaland who passed away on 29.08.2019.
