1st Northeast Unsung Heroes Red Carpet social award 2019 is getting bigger. 2019 chapter is coming with a big bang in none other than financial capital of the country – Mumbai. Mumbai will witness the biggest extravaganza of this year where around 32 Unsung Heroes of 8 states of North East India who will be recognized for their silent contribution to the society in the presence of Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Governor of Maharashtra and Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State (I/c) Youth Affairs & Sports and many other sports personality, Bollywood celebrities and Change -Makers of the country.
The event will be held on November 15 where people from Northeast would be felicitated for their honest hard work, which has not been identified by others yet.
There are 3 awardees per state in the field of sports, education, art and culture, entertainment, entrepreneurship. From Nagaland there were 16 nominations.
Five jurists, Dr Rupam Sharma, Principal Scientist, Ireni Akoijam, technical director, National Informatics Centre, Government of India, Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Journalist/Author, Akshaditya Lama, Film Director/Writer and social activist and community leader and founder, Rebecca Changkija Sema.
“This social event is to promote the unsung heroes of Northeast, The generation has changed and we don’t need only government job to bring the change in our society. We all have blessed with unique talents. Let’s bring out the best from one another,” says Rebecca.
Co-organizer Jutikaa Mahanta , Shiraz Henry, Pavi R. Shakya, Sujata Pradhan, Ashibo Chishi Swu and Ankita Tiwari, is equally excited for the day. This is the humble effort towards National Integration and encourage the North Eastern silent talent.
Last 2 events, Super star actress like Mahima Chaudhary and Zeenat Aman and Nepali actor Bhuwan KC and many more special guest from Bollywood graced the award function.The event also witnessed many other special guests from Bollywood, Sports, Social worker etc.
UFO has given 70 Theaters PAN India to promote this event and this first kind of event so far from Northeast India.
3 Awardees from Nagaland are Toyi Swuro from Phek. He has always been fond of shoes. While putting up in a small room in his native Phek town in Nagaland, the 25-year-old youth would often repair footwear for poor school kids who could not afford them, free of cost.
Rose Longchar from Dimapur. She is the first Nagameses film actress to feature in Bollywood movie. She also acted in Nagamese, Nepali and Hindi movies. She was turned down by many people, instead of being discourage she crossed all the obstacles in her way. Today Rose Longchar is affectionately known as shehero .
Menuodilhou Maurice Üsou from Nerhema Village , Kohima is Taekwondo Black belt 4 degree and he won 82 Medals National and International. Last month he went for World championship at Bulgaria representing India.
