1st Kohima Super Cup: G Sports and New Market enter semi-final

Kohima, May 24: G Sports Football Club and New Market FC today confirmed their semi-final berths of the ongoing Kohima Super Cup football tournament organized by Kohima Town Club (KTC) at Indira Gandhi Stadium here.
Playing their second matches out of three games in the league quarter-finals of the tourney, G Sports and New Market registered comfortable wins against their opponents to move to the semi-finals.
Both the teams will be playing their third quarter final match on May 26, to find out the toppers of the Group 1.
Earlier, playing the first match of the day, G Sports FC defeated Hurricane FC by 6-2.
Asito found an early breakthrough for G Sports in the third minute which was equalized by Abei for Hurricane in the 38th minute ending the first half in 1-1 draw. After the lemon break, Rüvisie Zashümo scored the lead for Hurricane in the 56th minute while G Sports retaliated with the equalizer from the boots of Imlongchaba Chang in the 63rd minute followed by the lead goal from Menguzelie Rutsa in the 68th minute. Thereafter, Chang scored two consecutive goals in 71st and 72nd minutes to make it his first hat-trick of the tourney while Yami Longhav sealed the scoreboard with the sixth goal in 90th minute.
Another semi-finalist New Market FC shattered Secü FC Academy by 9-0 in the second match of the day.
Nyithong Magh opened the floodgates in the 22nd minute and also netted his second in 51st minute. Noune Medoze supported with four goals scored in 34th, 45th, 56th and 76th minutes while Kevisanyü Peseyie, Neithovilie Chalieu and Letkhokai Kuki added a goal each in 64th, 89th and 90th minutes respectively.
