1st Kohima Super Cup: Barak FC and A Yhome FC enter SF

Kohima, May 27: Barak Football Club and A. Yhome FC today became the last two teams to enter into the semi-finals of the ongoing first Kohima Super Cup organised by Kohima Town Club at Indira Gandhi Stadium here.
Playing a closely contested last second league quarter final match today, Barak FC held Aphuyemi FC in a goalless draw with both the teams earning a point each taking their team tally to four each.
However, considering the difference of +3 goals, Barak FC got the semi-final berth.
In the last quarter league match, A Yhome FC came from behind with the help of Punuru’s second-half hat-trick to beat strong contenders Magadaline FC 3-2.
Tianungsang scored first for Magadaline FC in the 15th minute of play to lead the first half. However, four minute after the lemon-break, Punuru brought Yhome FC back to the game with the much needed equalizer and went on to score two more goals with his second net in the 59th minute while the hat-trick was through a penalty conversion in the 72nd minute.
With the win, A Yhome FC became the table toppers for Pool B while Barak FC are in second place.
The 79th saw Magadaline FC did manage to cut the margin with their second goal coming from the boots of Nosal Pucho but had to concede defeat as they were unable to make any further breakthrough till the final whistle. (Page News Service)
