19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy from Sept 20

Kohima, August 26: The 19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy organized by Angami Students’ Union (ASU) will be held at Local Ground (Khuochiezie), Kohima from September 20 to October 21.
The month long tournament is organized in respect and honour of the two martyrs’ Late Kekuojalie Sachü of Kohima Village and Late Vikhozo Yhoshü of Kigwema Village who were the victims in the indiscriminate firing of the Nagaland Armed Police from Alichen on March 20, 1986 during a peaceful rally called by the Naga Students’ Federation to protest against the State Government’s decision on the Extension of Disturbed Area Belt from 5 KM – 20 KM along the Indo-Myanmar border and against the induction of Indian Police Service cadre into the state of Nagaland.
Meanwhile, ASU Information & Publicity Secretary, Avizo Lcho said that the Organizing Committee is all set to give away attractive prizes with trophy and citations along with big cash amounting 5 lakhs for the tournament Champion, Runner-up, losing semi finalists and quarter finalists besides individual prizes in various disciplines.
Therefore, all the interested teams, clubs and enthusiastic players from within and outside the state have been informed that entry forms for the tournament will be made available at Sports Paradise Mulüo Market Kezieke, Kohima and Master Graphix Super Market near Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.
