Phesama YO and Meriema VYO enters last 8

Kohima, October 11: Phesama Youth Organisation and Meriema Village Youth Organisation booked their quarter final berth for the 19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Football Trophy organised by Angami Students’ Union on the theme ‘Goal for Peace’ at Local Ground here.
In the first match played today, Phesama YO sent back visiting team Charoi Chiru Naga FC, Manipur with 5-2 win.
Of the five goals for Phesama YO, Neisaleto Kuotsu took haul with his goals coming in the 28th, 31st, 64th and 76th minutes of play, which were the first, second, fourth & fifth for the team. Theja Chuse netted one goal in between in the 56th minute.
However, despite playing a 10-men game from the 77th minute as referee sent off Johnson for unsporting behavior, the visitors came up strong in the injury added time of the second half with Thangawar and Kenneth contributing a goal each.
Ropfükolie Seleyi and Abei Kar of Phesama YO and Asif and Kennedy of Charoi Chiru Naga FC were cautioned for foul play during the match.
Meriema Village Youth Organisation YO defeated United Brothers FC 4-1 in the fourth pre-quarter finals match.
Meriema VYO opened the account in the 21st minute through a spot kick from Kelhouneizo Üsou to lead the first half. Meriema VYO continued to lead with the second and third goals scored by Kevizhakie Ciesotsu and Vikeduolie Lhousi in the 62nd and 69th minutes, while the fourth goal came from the boots of Keviyabei-u Keditsü in the injury time.
The young United Brothers from D Block colony were consoled as their face saver came through a spot kick from Jaa Jaa Solo in the 74th minute.
During the match, as many as seven players were penalised with yellow cards for unfair play which include Kevirütuo Üsou, Kikrubeizo Keditsu, Vizotuolie Lhousi and Keneingütuo Yaotsu of Meriema VYO and Neihetuo Linyü, Vilazo Linyü, Kisan Chettri of United Brothers FC.
Meriema VYO will clash with Phesama YO in the quarter-finals on October 15.tir
