Khuzama YO, Senapati FC, Kigwema SU & Saptiqa FC enters pre-quarters

Kohima, October 9: Khuzama Youth Organization, Senapati Football Club, Kigwema Students’ Union and Saptiqa FC moved into the pre-quarter finals of the ongoing edition of NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy organized by Angami Students’ Union at Local ground here.
In the first match played today, Khuzama Youth Organization defeated Young Kickers FC by 6-2.
Scoring a hat-trick with 5 brilliant goals, Kezhose Khizho of Khuzama YO ensured victory for his team. He scored the first three goals in the 11th, 39th and injury added time of the first half. After the lemon break, he went on to added two more goals – fourth and sixth in the 51st and 79th minutes of the play while Vilhouvoto Sale scored the 5th goal in the 74th minute.
Meanwhile, the two goals in favour of Young Kickers FC, came from the boots of Zavete Doulo (15) and Shovelo Doulo (10) in the 23rd and 80th minutes of play.
Avito Thaprü of Khuzama YO was penalsied for unsporting behavior.
Playing the last match of the second round, Senapati FC defeated Modern College FC Kohima by two goals to nil.
Imda scored first in the 26th minute while the second goal came in the 67th minute from the boot of Sülounü. Modern College FC gave it’s all out effort but went in vain as Senapati FC responded equally by not providing space for the opponent to penetrate.
Koveo of Senapati FC and Kricho Kayina and Ngaopulo, both of Modern College FC were yellow carded during the match.
Senapati FC and Khuzama YO will clash in the pre-quarters on October 13.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Kigwema Students Union and Saptiqa Football Club Zunheboto won their respective matches.
In the first match, Kigwema Students’ Union blanked Viphoma M17 by 5 goals. Shürhotole Pfükha opened the score board in the 23rd minute while Vichüto Phira and Rokuosato Thorie scored two goals each in the 37th, 51st, 53rd & 63rd minutes of the game.
In another match, Saptiqa FC Zunheboto also thrashed Seiyhazou Hill Boys FC by 6 goals to nil. Displaying quality sporting skills, Kakhevi of Saptiqa FC, Zunheboto scored a hat trick with 5 goals. He scored the first and second goal in the 25th and 31st minute while the third goal was converted through a spot kick in the 33rd minute. Vinoka increased the score line with the fourth goal in the 44th minute, after which Kakhevi went on to score the 5th & 6th goals in the 54th & 56th minutes of the game respectively, thus sealing victory for his team.
Saptiqa FC, Zunheboto will play against Kigwema Students’ Union in the next round on October 13.
