Meriema VYO and United Brothers move into R-16

Kohima, October 6: Meriema Village Youth Organisation and United Brothers FC have moved into the pre-quarter finals berth of the ongoing 19th edition of NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy organized by Angami Students Union at Kohima Local Ground here.
Playing the first match, Meriema VYO won against Legends Hostel FC by 3 goals to nil.
All the goals for MVYO came in the second half of the match with Keneisezo Keditsu opening the account in the 48th minute. Vizotuolie Lhousi netted the second and third goals in the 55th & 83rd minutes of the game.
Meanwhile, Khrieneituo Kezie-o, Khriengülie Üsou of Meriema VYO and Sakuolie and Penai of Legends Hostel FC were penalised with yellow card for unsporting behavior.
Later, spectators gathered to witness the supposed to be exciting second match of the day between former champions Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) Manipur and United Brothers, Dec Block Kohima was dampened as the former failed to turn up for the match.
The organisers while conveying regrets informed that TKS expressed their inability to turn up for the match citing unforeseen circumstances. As such, in line with the rules conferred under certain sections in the Bylaw of the NSF MMT, United Brothers FC was given a walkover win against TKS, the organisers informed.
United Brothers FC will clash with Meriema Village Youth Organisation in the next round on October 11 at 2 p.m.

1. Kigwema S.U vs Viphoma M17 F.C at 12 noon
2. Seiyhazou Hill Boys F.C vs Saptiqa F.C Zunheboto at 2 p.m.
