Friends United and Kohima Science College wins

Kohima, September 24: Friends United New Market Kohima and Kohima Science College today registered win to move into the round of 32 of the 19th edition of NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy organised by Angami Students’ Union (ASU) on the theme “Goal for Peace” at Kohima Local Ground (Khuochiezie).
Playing the first match, Friends United defeated Thürüsüswümi Students’ Union by 5-1. Scoring maniac Gideon Leo became the first hat-trick scorer. He opened the score board in 15th minute while Thejaselie Terhüja netted the second goal in 28th minute. Gideon tripled the margin with his second goal in 30th minute. Verazo scored a goal for Thürüsüswümi Students’ Union to end the first half with 3-1.
After the lemon break, Gideon scored the fourth goal for the team and his hat-trick, the first for this edition, in 61st minute while Thejaselie sealed the score board with the fifth in 81st minute.
Menguneizo of Friends United and Mhaseveto of Thürüsüswümi were cautioned for unsporting behavior in the 36th and 44th minute of play.
In the second match, Kohima Science College Jotsoma defeated Lower Jail Youth Organisation by 4-2 via tie-breaker as the teams were locked in 1-1 draw during the 90 minutes play.
Kheleto scored the lead for Science College in 40th minute to lead the first half while the much needed equalizer for Lower Jail Colony came in through an excellent header from Sancho in 76th minute. However, in the tie breaker, Science College custodian Allong made excellent two saves of Lower Jail Youth Organisation to move ahead with 4-2 win.
