19 colleges call for indefinite Dimapur bandh from 10 a.m. today

Dimapur, June 4: Nineteen colleges of Dimapur, affiliated to All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has called for indefinite peaceful bandh on June 5 from 10 a.m. till their demand made by ANCSU are fulfilled.
The students of Dimapur colleges would impose a total bandh in Dimapur district.
They are supporting the demands of ANCSU which includes immediate resignation of Director, Technical Education, Nagaland and initiation of action against those officials involved in the misappropriation of State Technical Scholarship funds amounting to Rs 1.32 crore and immediate action on Nodal Cell to implement all kinds of scholarship schemes.
There will be an exemption in the total bandh for educational institution, para military forces, emergency services, medical, police personals, administration and Press Media.
The Colleges reminded the Minister of Higher & Technical Education of his silence in regard to genuine demands made by ANCSU.
It also requested the general public to co-operate and understand the Students’ movements for the welfare of the students’ and Naga’s in general.
