173 Bn CRPF conducts civic action programme

Dimapur, November 27: The 173 Bn CRPF conducted a Civic Action Programme on Tuesday at Transit Camp, CRPF, Dimapur where various sports items such as football and volleyball with nets were distributed to 21 local youth organisations in and around Dimapur.
A press release informed that as part of the programme, the Unit also started a 30-day training on light motor vehicle driving for unemployed youths.
Shyamchand De, DIG (Ops), CRPF, Kohima Range, graced the occasion as special guest and lauded the special efforts made by Commandant 173 Bn CRPF to reach out to the school children and youths and called upon the beneficiaries present to join hands with CRPF for developing mutual relationship.
Vishnu Gautam, Commandant 173 Bn CRPF, also addressed the gathering and outlined the various activities undertaken by the Unit under the Civic Action Programme at various different places both in Dimapur and Mokokchung districts.
Under Civic Action Programme, 173 Bn CRPF had on November 22 distributed 21 water storages to needy residents of Kirha and Diphupar villages in a function organized at their Battalion Headquarters.
Earlier on November 8, the Unit had distributed various agricultural tools to Khensa villagers in Mokokchung as part of its Civic Action Programme.
