Dimapur, June 5: A total of 1477 stranded people from Bengaluru arrived Dimapur today (June 5) by a special train and were sent to respective districts as per the new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
According to a DIPR report, upon arrival, 544 returnees of Dimapur were sent to Agri Expo for registration, screening and triaging by the medical team and thereafter they were taken to the designated quarantine centres.
The remaining returnees from 10 districts comprising of 82 people from Tuensang, 211 from Mon, 60 from Longleng, 56 from Kiphire, 54 from Phek, 166 from Zunheboto, 55 from Mokokchung, 61 from Wokha, 102 from Peren and 86 from Kohima were screened by the Medical Department at the Railway Station, district wise and sent to their respective districts after they were provided food packets, snacks and water.
As per the new SOP, all the returnees were received, screened and dispatched by Team Dimapur to all the 10 districts across the state.
Lotha Youth Organization assisted Team Dimapur for smooth management of the protocols. The food packs for all the Bangalore passengers were donated by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and his family.
On arrival, the passengers were received at the railway station by DC Dimapur Anoop Kinchi IAS, APC and in-charge of Dimapur District for COVID-19, Kekhito Sema, Secretary Food and Civil Supplies, Honje Konyak, Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Rothihu Tetso, CMO Dimapur, Dr. Tiasunep, NGOs, Church Leaders, volunteers and officials from various departments.
