14 beauties to vie for Miss Nagaland 2019

A total of 14 young ladies will vie for the coveted title of Miss Nagaland 2019 during the beauty pageant scheduled for December 9 at 6PM at RCEMPA Jotsoma, Kohima.
The event themed as “Grace & beauty: The brain in you” is being organized Beauty & Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) and powered by Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland and co-sponsored by 4Life as part of the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland.
BASN made the announcement of the 14 contestants for the semi-finals rounds which will be held on the D-Day during a press conference held at Symphony Café here today. They are: Gimlule, Kevlenuo Miachieo, Neisavonuo Zashümo, Vikuonuo Sachü, Keneizonuo Nagi, Limasenla Jamir, Khrielievinuo Suoho, Ketuniphre-e Gwirie, Shefüvi Pfithu, Nengneichin Hangsing, Imnasenla Ao, Viprotsüno Kehie, Nlumpeule and Akumla Imsong.
Unlike the previous years where the Miss Nagaland contestants used to have direct test of beauty and brain for the reigning Miss of the respective districts and tribes, this time except for reigning Miss Peren – Gimlule, Miss Phek – Shefüvi Pfithu and Miss Mokokchung – Akumla Imsong other 11 are students selected from among the 50 damsels coming for the auditions held in colleges in different districts.
On this BASN clarified that while some of the districts conveyed the inability of their beauties to participate this year due to unavoidable circumstances while those from Eastern Nagaland areas have been holding the contest separately.
BASN member Neitho Khamo informed that this would be the 31st Miss Nagaland Beauty Pageant wherein the 14 of them would contest in the semi-final and final round. In the semi-finals, three rounds – Introduction Traditional Wear, Designer and Evening Gown – will be held along with Interview round.
The final will be the question round from the five judges, including FBB Colors Miss India Assam 2018 Sunaina Kamath as special guest judge.
He said the grooming session for the girls will be conducted from December 2 to 8 under the guidance of Chow Poran J. Gogoi a well known Beauty Pageant Coach & Fashion Choreographer and Talent Promoter of North East India.
BASN co-ordinator Lipok Zulu informed cash awards for the winners are: Miss Nagaland – Rs 1.20 lakh, 1st runners-up – Rs 1 lakh and 2nd runners-up – Rs 70,000 while five subtitle winners will get Rs 10,000 each with gift hampers.
