13,159 stranded Naga people in other states receive financial assistance


Dimapur, May 7: Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha today informed that a total of 17,439 applicants comprising of 13,159 working people, 4112 students and 168 patients have been provided assistance by transferring the cash grants to their bank accounts. These people from Nagaland are stranded or in distress in different parts of the country.
He informed that today, Chief Minister visited Mokokchung and Wokha where he reviewed the preparedness in combating COVID-19, inspected the COVID hospitals, distributed relief materials and held meetings with the District Administration, Police, the District Task Forces and the Civil Societies. At Mokokchung, the Chief Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Chief Minister, Speaker, Minister Higher & Technical and Tribal Affairs, Minister, Rural Development, Advisor Treasuries and Accounts and National Highways, and Imkong L Imchen, MLA. At Wokha, the Chief Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Chief Minister, Minister Higher and Technical and Tribal Affairs, and Minister, Rural Development.
He further informed that till date a total of 786 samples have been sent for testing from the State. Results of 728 samples have been received and all are negative. Results for 58 samples are awaited. (Page News Service)
