13 beauties to vie for Miss Nagaland 2022 on Dec 9

A total of 13 beauties from eight districts will contest for the 33rd edition of Miss Nagaland organised by Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) on December 9.
This will be the 33rd edition of the beauty pageant and will be held in the Capital Cultural Hall from 5:30 PM, said BASN president Melekhoto Pucho while addressing a press conference along with his officials at Symphony Café here today.
He said that the event is powered by Nagaland Tourism Department, Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) and Election Department.
The 13 contestants are from Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, Niuland, Peren, Phek, Tseminyu and Zunheboto, he said adding that Niuland, Peren & Mokokchung will have one contestant each while others have two. Chumoukedima and Wokha districts could not send contestants as they are yet to hold the district pageant.
The six districts of Eastern Nagaland do not have any contestants for the third time in a row.
He said that the 13 contestants will be arriving in Kohima tomorrow and will undergo grooming classes and other activities before the final contest.
Miss Nagaland 2022 will get a cash award of Rs One lakh with gift hampers and will also be the ambassador of Election Department, runners-up will get Rs 70,000 with hampers and second runners-up will get Rs 50,000 with gift hampers, he said.
The top two winners will represent Nagaland in the next edition of Miss Northeast Beauty Pageant to be held in Sikkim next year, he said.
The six sub-title winners – Miss Talent, Miss Photogenic, Miss Perfect 10, Queen of Heart, Miss Multimedia and Miss Beautiful Smile – will also get cash Rs 10,000 and gift hampers worth Rs 10,000.
The two guest judges for the show will be newly crowned Miss Northeast from Meghalaya Irene Dkhar and Miss Northeast runners-up from Assam Eshanee Hatimuria, he said.
Pucho said that the contestants will start from semi-finals with ethnic/traditional wear round, designer’s round, evening gown round and the top-four finalist with question round.
He said that the tickets fixed at Rs 200 and Rs 500 only are available at Symphony Café and also will be available at the venue on the event day.
