125 migrant labourers stranded in Full Nagarjan

Dimapur, April 8: Around 125 migrant labourers from West Bengal and Bihar are stranded in Full Nagarjan, Dimapur since the lockdown began and are undergoing great hardships.
A leader of migrant labour, Mujibur Rahman conveyed their hardships to Tajamul Haque, ex-MLA, Malda, West Bengal, who in short time contacted Advisor, Power Government of Nagaland, Tovihoto Ayemi.
Tovihoto assured Tazamul of every possible assistance to stranded migrant labours and directed his staffs to provide ration and other food items to all the migrant workers stranded at Full Nagarjan.
Tovihoto also directed Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur Anoop Khinchi of the pathetic condition of these migrant labourers and to provide them with necessary assistance.
Meanwhile, it was learnt that though they were having less ration, due to fear they are not able to move out to buy rations and so they were confining themselves in their rented houses.
“We just want to go back to our villages in West Bengal and Bihar. We are scared here”, Mohibur broke down while speaking on behalf of all the migrant labours stranded along with him and added that at this perilous hours they were longing to be with their families.
He said they came so far to Nagaland engaged as manual labour for a private company engaged in Railway construction and now if the lockdown ends they would rush to visit their families. (Page News Servic)
