Dimapur, April 10: National Lok Adalat held in the State today settled 110 matters out of 363 listed disputes/matters/cases with a total settlement amount of Rs. 1,18,52,562 only.
In the National Lok Adalat (Peoples Court) held by Legal Services Institutions all across the State in concert with the rest of the country, 10 Lok Adalat Sitting benches were constituted by the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) in the respective District Headquarters.
In total, 363 disputes/matters/cases were listed for dealing at today’s National Lok Adalat which included cases in pending stage as well as in pre-litigation stage mostly in the category of bank Recovery, Criminal Compoundable cases & Motor Accident Cases Tribunal.
With pervasive pursuance by the conciliators through arbitration, conciliation and amicable efforts, the benches were able to resolve and settle 110 such disputes and cases. Settlement amount involved in some of the cases amounts to a total of Rs. 1,18,52,562 only.
This Settlement Amount is the amount mutually agreed for payment between the litigants (or) parties who are involved in a dispute where the parties on arriving at a consensus, the willing amount to settle the disputes for the damaged caused or a negotiated amount for payment on a claim by a party. Settlement amount also includes the fine money, Bank recovery money, money suits, compensation money, etc.
The sittings were organized in Dimapur, Kohima, Longleng,Kiphire, Mokokchung,Mon, Wokha, Phek, Peren and Zunheboto. (Page News Service)
