The eagerly awaited awards presentation ceremony of the 10th edition of the Music Awards of Nagaland will be held during the Hornbill Festival on December 7 at Bamboo Hall, Kisama from 5:30 pm onwards.
In all, 62 talented nominees across various genres of music will be vying for the honour and prestige of winning a MAN trophy at the special event which has been instituted in 2009 and organized every year for the last ten years by Native Trax Society, an organization which seeks to honour home grown music makers and those working within the local music industry.
A total of 21 awards will be given away for the best songs in gospel, gospel (local dialects), rock (alternative/ indie), rock (metal/ heavy), Hindi & local dialects, pop, hiphop/ rap, folk fusion, instrumental, EDM and EDM (with vocals) genres which are being judged by an esteemed panel of judges. A different award called ‘Song of the Year’ will however be a public choice award which will go to the nominee who receives the most likes, shares and views on the Music Awards of Nagaland Facebook Page and Youtube channel.
In addition to these, to acknowledge the hard work and talent of those working behind the scenes, awards will also be presented in technical categories for best music video, best video director, best sound engineer, best producer, patron award and best lyricist/ songwriter. This is being done to encourage and promote the growth of local music industry,
The show, which is being supported by Tourism Department and IWSN will be hosted by renowned rapper and VJ Imli Lee a.k.a. Déjà vu.
