1 held for smuggling drug inside jail

Dimapur, October 10: One person identified as Kahovi Aye was arrested by security guard while smuggling drugs into Central Jail on October 6.
Dimapur police said the accused had been frequently smuggling prohibited articles (drugs) inside the jail by throwing them over the main security wall from outside. He was caught red-handed by the security guards while throwing 430 tablets of Spasmo (restricted drug), police said.
In this connection a case has been registered at Diphupar Police Station.
Bike lifter arrested
On October 6, Dimapur police apprehended one motorcycle lifter while attempting to steal a scooty from a residential area. The accused was identified as Tolhobu Sikiba of Asukho Village, Zunheboto and presently residing at Lhomithi Colony Dimapur.
In this connection a case has been registered at Sub-Urban Police Station (SBN) and investigation is on.
Thief apprehended
On October 8, one person identified as Tara Chand was apprehended by the public for committing a theft at Walford Rajabari Complex Dimapur.
In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station and further investigation is on.
1 held for purchasing pilfered fuel
On October 6, one person namely Bikash Kumar of Muzafapur, Bihar and presently residing at Pherema Village, was caught while purchasing pilfered fuel (Diesel) from the driver of a road roller of (ECI) four lane project near Kuki dolong village.
In this connection a case has been registered at Medziphema Police Station and investigation is on.
Burglar arrested
Dimapur Police arrested one person namely Salong Jamir (34) of Industrial village, Diampur for breaking into the premises of District Court on October 2 and stealing office property.
In this connection a case has been registered at West Police Station and investigation is on.
Extortionist held
On October 10, Dimapur Police arrested one Anguvito (30) from Riverbelt colony, Dimapur on criminal charge of extortion.
