1 held for looting Rs 21.14 lakhs from ATM in Kohima

Dimapur, January 14: Kohima police on Monday arrested one Dzuvileto Natso (29) in connection with the vandalizing and looting of an Axis Bank ATM booth at High School Junction, opposite Vishal Mart, Kohima, on the night of January 12.
PRO Kohima Police said following receipt of information that on Sunday night the ATM was vandalised and cash inside the ATM booth looted by unknown miscreant, police immediately swung into action to arrest the miscreant and recover the stolen cash.
A police team led by SDPO (North), Kohima, M Yambemo Humtsoe arrested the accused, who was working as a Custodian of Cash Management Services (CMS), police said. Later in the course of investigation, stolen cash amounting to Rs 21,14,000 was recovered from the basement of a residential complex at Razhü Point, where the arrested person was residing.
In connection with the case, police had earlier recovered Rs 10,16,500 from the ATM booth, which police said, was left behind by the accused, making the total cash recovery to Rs 31,30,500.
In this connection, a case has been registered at North Police Station and further investigation is on. (Page News Service)
