Dimapur, April 11: In the first COVID fatality in Nagaland since February 20 this year, a woman in her mid-seventies died after testing positive for the virus in Mokokchung on April 10.
Sources from the Health Department said that she died at the district’s COVID hospital. Initially, she was admitted at a private hospital, the source said.
All her family members have been kept in isolation, the source informed. Reportedly, the victim’s daughter had returned from New Delhi on March 29.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir has ordered sealing of 7 houses in Mokokchung town until further notice.
In an order issued on April 10, the DC informed that the sealing has been necessitated to carry out intensive contact tracing to contain the spread of the virus.
The following houses have been sealed: House No. 321, Kumlong Ward; House No. 246 (ABC), Kumlong Ward; House No. 225, Kumlong Ward; House No. 296 (Block 3) KumIong Ward; House No. 222 (A/B) Kumlong Ward; House No. 340, Kumlong Ward; and House No. 54, Mongsenbai Ward.
