Open Letter to Chief Engineer, Power

The Chief Engineer of Power Department.

Sub: Indication of the electric meter reading of previous and present in the online power bills with the month and window for sending present meter reading to the department by the consumer.

While appreciating the introduction of online payment system of electric bills, it is to request the authority to kindly indicate the billing month and the meter reading of previous and present meters in the online bills also as it is in the paper bills so as to let the consumers know the proper meters reading.

It is also requested the authority to open the window for collecting the present meter reading from the consumers by way of SMS or any other ways so that the department can make the bill on the basis of the actual meter reading submitted by the consumers.

In most cases, the department makes the bills in average and never correct the bill even the actual meter reading was submitted by the meter readers unless the consumer complained and most of the consumers use to pay the double bills without knowing it.

Nowadays the consumers are not getting the bills on time but the department will definitely insist to clear the bill even the bills are not supplied to the consumers.

Hence, the Chief Engineer of Power Department is requested to rectify the system accordingly which will be convenient and beneficial for both the consumer and the department.
