We the elected members of the Mon district, who attended the Lao-Ong Mo Festival, are constraint to issue this clarification with regard to the Home Ministry Y. Patton's statement at the Lao-ong Mo festival at Mon on Firday last, as it has created a lot of confusion and misunderstanding among the people due to misinterpretation by the so called Mon Division NPF president Yanlong Konyak and General Secretary Wango Konyak. It may be clarified once and for all that at no point of time in his entire brief speech Home Minister Y. Patton had made a mentioned of Lt. Kiyanilie Peseyie name. Hence, the whole confusion evolving out of purported Home Minister's statement was totally fabricated with an attempt to politicise the well-intended event of Lao-on Mo Festival by the two self-style leaders and defamed the whole Konyak community.

It was quite unfortunate that Mr. Yanlong Konyak and Wango Konyak tried to mislead the Naga people and bereaved family by concocting the Hon'ble Home Minister's statement and create misunderstanding  among all concerned with their naive ulterior political motive, which is totally regrettable.

Perhaps, we the elected members of Mon district in particular and the Konyak people in general have a profound respect for all leaders, brothers  and sisters irrespective of tribes and never had an intention to hurt anybody in such an auspicious occasion like Loa-ong Mo Festival. We believe in peaceful coexistence of all the tribes. Therefore, we vehemently condemned the ulterior motive of Mr. Yanlong Konyak and Wango Konyak and appealed the public not to be carry away by such allegation and propaganda.
