Wokha DPDB & DTF meeting deliberates on COVID-19 issues

Dimapur, June 1: District Planning & Development Board meeting cum District Task Force for COVID-19 meeting was held on 1st June 2021 at Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, Wokha.

Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton, Advisor for IT & Communication, Science & Technology, NRE, Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor for Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan and MLA Dr Chumben Murry attended the meeting.
Patton expressed his appreciation to the doctors, healthcare workers, frontline workers, administration, police, civil societies and all other involved for rendering their services during the pandemic.
Patton informed that 25% of the LADF-Common Pool fund 2021-2022 has been reserved for upgrading medical equipments and other required facilities for the District Hospital, Primary Health Centres (PHC) and Community Health Centres (CHC).
He also donated Rs 10 lakh for procurement of X-Ray machine for District Hospital, Wokha and handed over PPE kits and cash for Wozhuro Primary Health Centre to the local MLA Dr Chumben Murry.
The new Chairman of Wokha DPDB, Mmhonlumo Kikon said that the positivity rate in the State has gone down from 34% to 21 % after the lockdown and added that the State has targeted to bring down to 10% to lift the lockdown.
In reply to the memorandum submitted by the Lotha Hoho, Kikon requested the Medical department (CMO & MS) to work out and submit details of requirements of the District Hospital at the earliest so that the issues can be addressed to the Government for consideration.
He further congratulated the Wokha DTF for working tirelessly for the well-being of the people of the district. In regard to up gradation of district hospital, PHC & CHC, he requested the DC, CMO & MS to work out modalities and submit the same for implementation.
Mhathung Yanthan emphasized on proper treatment and feeding of COVID patients admitted at COVID Care Centre and lauded the efforts put in by the Health Care Workers in the District.
Chumben Murry urged the people to come forward to consult and take timely medical help for the safety and well being of the community. He added that before the third wave comes, the District needs to vaccinate at least 40% of the population.
Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha apprised the preparedness status of the District Task Force in the District and highlighted some of the activities of the DTF.

The Deputy Chief Minister and his entourage also visited District Hospital to take firsthand knowledge of the preparedness level undertaken by the hospital authority in the fight against the pandemic.
He also donated PPE Kits and Cash for the district hospital.
The team also visited Sanis CHC and held interaction with the medical staff and the public of Sanis area. The Deputy Chief Minister also donated PPE kits and cash towards Sanis CHC which was handed over to Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Wokha. (Page News Service)
