Dimapur, October 11: The Eastern Nagaland College Students' Union (ENCSU) has sought clarification from the Department of Higher Education on the release of scholarship in instalment basis for the year 2016-17.

In a press release, ENCSU general secretary Wangnei C Jessuhu and joint secretary Aphen Tangshang asked if releasing scholarship in instalments is a Central Government's policy, and if so whether other states are following the same as it comes under one scheme.

Asking the State Government and the Department of Higher Education to give reason for the welfare of students' community in Nagaland, the ENCSU also appealed to the Department to release the scholarship in full amount and not on instalment basis.

The union further appeal to all Eastern students and Naga students in general not to accept the scholarship in instalments till the department clarifies.
