Dimapur, August 12: Hours after the NPF youth wing of 10 Northern Angami-1 Assembly Constituency supporting Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu's leadership issued an ultimatum to the NPF owing allegiance to Neiphiu Rio to close down their NPF office at Hotel Legacy, Bayavu and remove all NPF flags around on or before August 13, the NPF press and information cell has stated that the Legacy Complex situated at Bayavü Hill lies at Kohima, the capital of Nagaland and every different party has right to establish their party office including NPF temporary office anywhere in Kohima including Bayavü Hill.

In a release, the press and information cell said the temporary office of the party was established after seeking permission from the land owner of the Legacy Complex, and no one has the right to disrupt the functioning of the office which is in a private property.

The release reminded that Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio was duly elected as interim President of NPF on July 31 by 36 NPF legislators out of 48 NPF legislators. It said the 36 NPF legislator does not recognize Dr Shurhozelie  Liezietsu as the president of NPF, and has served a 15 days ultimatum to Shurhozelie to step down as president of the NPF, which expires on August 13.

Alleging that the ultimatum served is with ulterior motive to disrupt the functioning of the party office, the release warned that in the event of any disruption and/or destructions of the temporary office, the youth wing of 10 NA (1) (A/C) will be held responsible and the party will be compelled to filed for necessary action and reliefs before the appropriate authority.

Not afraid of threats: NPF youth

The NPF Youth Wing of the 10th Northen Angami-I A/C under Rio has also said that they are not afraid of the threats and will stand their ground come what may.

"We are at the helm and our NPF led DAN Government is in absolute 2/3 majority and our hair's has not move even a nanometer by such threats and we shall stand the ground come what may," said a press release issued by NPF Youth Wing Kohima Division.

The release alleged that the ultimatum was submitted by "a mob numbering around 100 paid youths" of the "minority NPF Youth Wing", who it alleged were "arrogantly abusive and their sole agenda was violence and to create law and order situation in the otherwise peaceful state capital."

The release claimed that the youth wing of Rio-led NPF exercised restraint in order to avoid physical confrontations.

Vehemently condemning the "extreme provocative actions of the minority NPF youth wing", the release stated that in the event of any consequences from today onwards "be at the legacy complex or upon Neiphiu Rio our interim President, MP (Lok Sabha)", the minority NPF youth wing will be solely held responsible.
