KOHIMA, JANUARY 17: The Great Indian Travel – Empower, Meet, Explore, a Pan India road trip campaign spanning over 101 days traversing across all the Indian States and 5 Union Territories to support small and micro businesses affected by COVID-19 makes landfall in Kohima, Nagaland, on January 16.
Kaustav Ghosh and Laxmi Sorte, a husband-and-wife duo who are also the founder and Co-founder of the initiative had set out on the 15,000+km journey in their Honda Amaze on December 1, 2021 from Mumbai. Already 48 days into the road trip, the duo has covered more than 10,000 Kms and Nagaland is the 17th State the team is crossing in their campaign.
The duo will head to Arunachal Pradesh from Dimapur on January 18, and from there they will travel to Assam, Sikkim and eventually towards the states in North India. The campaign will culminate at Mumbai on March 11.
Interacting with journalists from Kohima at Blue Bayou Hotel, Ghosh shared that the inspiration behind the initiative stemmed from the harsh realities of doing business especially for micro-businesses during the first wave and the second wave. These realizations pushed us to brainstorm in order to come up with a plan to help the small businesses during the pandemic, he said.
Ultimately, our team formulated a goal for the campaign where small business owners will be made aware of pathways like better marketing strategies, listing platforms and online promotion in order to uplift their business and provide where they can explore various business opportunities, he added.
” Through these business models, we aim to empower people from all backgrounds and establish a network for small and micro-businesses to promote and grow their businesses with the help of #ISupportYourBusiness,” Ghosh informed.
#ISupportYourBusiness is the platform that is powering the whole The Great Indian Travel. ISYB is about supporting and empowering small businesses/manufacturers/vendors by listing them on an E-Commerce platform which can help the businesses in boosting sales and also remove the issues of logistics. ISYB will also be given assistance in Public Relations and marketing by providing free promotions.
Ghosh said that during the road trip they will be meeting like minded people from various International organisations like Rotary Clubs, Rotaract Clubs, Inner Wheel Clubs and Business Network International (BNI) Chapters. With the help of these organizations we connect with the startups and small businesses in the area and help develop business strategies for such businesses.
