IGAR (N) sets up stall at Kisama Heritage village

Dimapur, December 6: HQ IGAR (North) established an Assam Rifles stall at Kisama Heritage village today as a new addition for attraction of the tourists during the Hornbill festival.

The aim of the stall is to familiarise the people with the role, capabilities and work being done by the Assam Rifles in the state. It also aims to create awareness and provide an insight into various entry schemes to join the Assam Rifles, Army and Territorial Army.  

The Battle of Kohima especially the role of Nagas during the WW II  has been showcased  to create awareness amongst the youth. 

Main attraction of the stall has been  'Weapon Display' where children, youth, elderly and even womenfolk flocked to witness semi automatic weapons, automatic machine guns, rocket launchers and other equipment used by the security forces.

Other activities at the stall includes the display of History of Assam Rifles,  screening of  movies on Helping Hands, Civic Action  activities and ,  information corner on various entry schemes. 

On the opening day a large number of  persons visited the 'AR PAVILION'.
