Children's Day celebrated in Nagaland

Dimapur, November 14: Along with the rest of the country, District Legal Services Authority across the State celebrated Children's Day today. 

Mon: Mon District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) celebrated Children's Day with the theme "Save Earth, Save Children" at Faith Fellowship Orphanage School, Wangla Village, 25 kms away from Mon Headquarter.

Neiko Kanuo, District and Session Judge and chairman MDLSA wished all the children in the school a happy Children's Day and encouraged the children to be sincere in their studies and also to be obedient to become someone in society in future. 

Relating his own childhood memories, Neiko Kanuo said childhood days are the happiest moment in life and also the most important in order to built our future. 

MDLSA distributed learning materials to all 98 students in the orphanage school along with sweets to mark the children's day celebration. 

Kohima: The Kohima District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) organized children's day programme at Tabitha enabling academy.

Delivering an opening remark, headmistress of Tabitha Enabling academy, Vekutilu shared about how Tabitha academy was formed. She appraised that the academy is mainly for the special children.

Puchole Panel Lawyer KDLSA spoke on POCSO Act 2012 and gave a brief introduction of how the act came into force. She said that the main objectives of the Act is to protect the child from the sexual offenders, provide the child a friendly system.

Puchole also highlighted the penalties of the sexual offences, sexual assault and it's punishments under the act.

Presenting on Mental Health Act, Keduvi, Panel Lawyer KDLSA gave a brief introduction of how this act came into force.

He said that it's main objective is to provide right to life (art, 21), right to equality (14) to a child who is Suffering  from  mental illness.

Keduvi said that every child is equal in the eye of law. 

Peren: The Peren District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) celebrated Children's Day by organizing a legal awareness programme at Government Higher Secondary School, Peren. 

The programme was attended by more than 700 students including the school staffs. 

APP, Italang spoke on the significance of the National Legal Services Authority and the need to have legal knowledge for the children. He also highlighted the provisions of the POCSO act. 

Speaking on Juvenile Justice act, Panel Lawyer PDLSA, Zakaria enlightening the student about the various aspects of law regarding Juvenile in conflict with law and children in need of care and protection. 

Panel Lawyer, Asuni spoke on child friendly legal services to children and their protection scheme 2015. The programme was also attended and assisted by PLV's Ikeu and Kuhia.

Dimapur: Dimapur District Legal Services Authority celebrated Children's Day with Spring Buds Home for uncared children.

S. Hukato Swu, Principal District and Session Judge and Chairman DDLSA spoke on Legal Awareness for Children, while Sentimenla, Panel Lawyer DDLSA speaking on child rights. The children of the home also presented a special song.
