Dimapur, October 11: North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) today observed its second foundation cum graduation day here at DBIDL Hall, Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School Campus, Dimapur in the presence of vice-chancellor of Nagaland University Prof. Pardeshi Lal as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Lal encouraged the student to give back to the society for it is time and benefit it with the skills they have acquired during their courses and be ready for problems associated with the society, mental health of people and others with innovative solutions.

He said that problems differ from society to society and they are never the same or permanent everywhere and it is the job of sociologists to come up with strategies to solve the problems in different ways while at the same time observe the changing trends of the societies, predict problems in future and be ready with solutions when they arrive.

Giving an advice on providing solutions, he said that half of the problems in a society can be solved with a smile and an intact morality and asked them to make realizations at the end of the day about what ought to have done by them and what they actually have done and urged them to keep adapting.

Previously, principal of NEISSR Dr. Fr. CP Anto in his welcome address asked the out going students to set trends in the society like what Gandhi, Keats and others had done and be 'self-starters' rather than 'kick-starters'.

Established in the year 2014, a total of 43 students graduated this year from the institution.
