NE choral music competition

Dimapur, September 13: To tap more talents and to encourage more choral groups in North East region, a North East Choral Music Competition is being organized by All India Radio, North East region.  

The preliminary rounds will be held in each capital stations of the North East and the winners will compete at the grand finale to be held on February 24 or 25, 2018 at All India Radio, Guwahati. 

Head of Programme, AIR Kohima informed that the participating choral group should consist of 10-16 members in the age group of 16-30 years. 

The group will perform in English or local languages in which a gist translation should be provided. Each groups need to present three songs of five minutes each during the screening.  An amount of Rs 1050 in cash will be charged as processing fee. 

Cash prize money amounting to Rs 1 lakh, Rs 50000 and Rs 30000, along with citations will be awarded to the best three groups in the NE choral music competition.  

Meanwhile, AIR Kohima will also be organizing a State level folk Music Competition. Interested choral and folk groups may collect forms from September 14 between 11 am to 4 pm from Renubala, Programme Executive, room number seven, ground floor.
