DMC informs business establishments

Dimapur, August 11: The Dimapur Municipal Council has observed that many business establishments/shops/vendors are still in practice of selling/using non bio-degradable poly bags, which is in direct violation of the notification issued by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India under Environment Protection Act, 1986 and Nagaland Pollution Control Board of the Plastics Waste (Management and Handlings) Rules 2011.

The DMC has also been reported about unauthorized dealers selling bio-degradable poly bags without any permit from the concerned authority.

In this regard, the DMC has informed that any business establishments/shops/vendors/individuals found violating the notices/directives would be penalized and their Trade Licences would be cancelled.
