Kohima, November 15: Joining the rest of the nation, the Schedule Tribe (ST) Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland State Unit today observed the ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ (Tribal Pride Day).
The president of ST Morcha, BJP Nagaland State unit, Wanphong Konyak in her address acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi for declaring November 15 as the ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ to celebrate the life, culture and contributions of Tribal people in the country.
“It shows the deep love and great vision of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi for every community, every religion and every ethnicity in our great nation. It is indeed a great honour for the millions of tribal communities spread throughout the country,” she said.
Konyak pointed out that India’s greatest strength is oneness- Unity in diversity serves as the epitome of national harmony was shown to the rest of the world, while other nations were subjugating the minorities or the tribal people for political, religious and other reasons as the Prime Minister chose to celebrate the ethnic diversity of the country through ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’.
She maintained that this act has shown to the rest of the world the need to integrate the nation through love, respect and non-violence.
Further she viewed that the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas had filled the hearts of Northeast India that is inhabited by indigenous tribes, and the president also acknowledged the BJP leadership and the Government of India for the recognition of the tribals.
ST Morcha, BJP Nagaland State Unit, General Secretary, Kruto Tetseo informed that the ST Morcha BJP Nagaland team also participated with participants from all the districts virtually. (Page News Service)
