Schools & Orgs celebrated 74th Independence Day

Dimapur, August 16: Sainik School Punglwa joined the nation in celebrating the 74th Independence Day of the Nation. Gp Capt Prasun Basu, the Principal graced the celebration as the Chief Guest.
The programme was attended by the staff and the Day scholars of the school. The programme started with the hoisting of the Tri Colour followed by the National Anthem. Later the Chief Guest addressed the gathering. In his short speech he reminded the gathering of the sacrifices made then and now to keep the nation independent and sovereign.
To mark this important day, the school distributed sweets, masks and sanitisers to the villagers of two adjoining villages, Punglwa and Gaili. The NCC Coy, Sainik School Punglwa joined in the celebrations by creating awareness about the present Covid situation.
PVHSS: Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS) marked the 74th Independence Day celebration at its school premises. The Principal extended heartiest greetings to all the teaching staff of this institution. He emphasized on the importance of “New National Education Policy 2020” and its implementation through the major reforms in the education would positively transform the lives of students. He also paid homage to the laid down people who sacrificed their valuable lives for the noble cause of the country and dedicated frontline workers like doctor, defense personnel etc who are confronting the real life time situation, our heart always goes for them.
LCDH: Lions Club of Dimapur Hornbill & Japfu, celebrated Independence Day along with tree plantation and each member planted 5 plants. Lion Neena Dutta, (District chairperson International Relation) was also present along with Leo club of Dimapur & Leo club of St. Mary’s.
GHI Dimapur: Government Hindi Institute, Dimapur, Nagaland had Flag Hoisting ceremony on the occasion of India’s 74th Independence Day by keeping in mind the protocal, issued by the State Government due to the Covid19. Invocation was pronounced by Pastor Rev. Robert Sing and the National Flag was hoisted with short sharing of the occasion by the Deputy Director, Dr. BP Philip, Directorate of School Education, Nagaland who also is holding the incharge of Principal, GHI Dimapur, where ministerial and teaching faculty were present.
Dimapur Bongs: Joining the rest of the country, Dimapur Bongs celebrated the 74th Independence Day at Bongs Office near Dimapur Kalibari with a limited number of members adhering to the existing SOP.
Secretary of DB Abhijit Chowdhury along with a few children hoisted the Tricolour on the occasion and later distributed refreshments to the frontline workers for their tireless work during this pandemic as a show of gratitude.
VWF: Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF) joined the rest of the nation on 15th August 2020 to celebrate India’s 74th Independence Day by distributing food packet as evening snacks to the street beggars who are termed as “Living Narayana”.
Amidst the shadow of COVID-19 pandemic and the safety SOPs in place, Independence day was celebrated near by the office of VWF at DMC building and at the open space of Dimapur Railway Station by moving and riding around the city holding National Flag in hand and singing the patriotic numbers .
The members distributed the food packets with water bottle to those needy people sitting at the road side.
LCD: Leo Club of Dimapur celebrated the 74th Independence Day along with Lions Club of Dimapur and Lions Club of Blue Vanda by hoisting the National Flag followed by Flag Salutation and National Anthem. Also, they celebrated the day with Lions Club of Hornbill, Lions Club of Japfu and Leo Club of St. Mary’s Dimapur by hoisting the National Flag and they also planted 5 saplings on the campus of St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School. The whole program was headed by Leo Rashika Jain and Leo Pravin Jain under the leadership of Leo Vishal Patni.
The members of Lions Club Of Dimapur Blue Venda celebrate this Independence Day by visiting Ebenezer Orphanage Home.
GOUN: The Global Open University Campus Nagaland observed the Independence Day in its campus at Sodzulhou village. Owing to the lockdown, few employees staying in the campus assembled under the National flag and sang the National anthem. The National Flag was hoisted by Dr HN Dutta, Vice Chancellor of the university. The employees attended the ceremony wearing traditional costumes and garments.
DBSU: The 74th Independence Day was celebrated at the office of the Bengali Students Union, Dimapur in presence of Advisor Bishnu Bhattacharje, President Raja Debnath and all the office bearers. Unfurling the national flag in the DBSU office building, Bishnu Bhattacharjee called for unity, peace and brotherhood among all citizens of India and the State.
