SASCA tournament begins at Satakha

Dimapur, December 10: The 12th session of Satakha Area Sports and Cultural Association (SASCA) men’s football and women’s volleyball tournaments kicked off on December 7 with G. Kaito Aye, Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation as guest of honour. He requested the organizers to try and include more games in the coming years so as to enable all sportspersons to participate or to accommodate maximum sportspersons. The minister added that sports play an important and necessary role in our lives and a great activity that gives us various benefits and help us to maintain physical fitness, build self-esteem, improves concentration and also provides career opportunities.
Earlier Rev. Kughato K. Chophi, Pastor STBC invoked God’s blessing and SASCA President Kiyeto Zhimo thanked Director IPR, Er. Z Tokishe Sema, Sr. Treasury Officer, Khekaho T Aye and Proprietor Hiyo Betoka V Swu for their valuable contributions.
Shoipu villagers presented traditional dance ‘Aphilo Kuwo’ and Bolly Chophi presented special number.
In solidarity with the Konyak brothers for the unfortunate Oting incident, all the teams will be wearing a black ribbon throughout the tournament.
