KOHIMA, OCTOBER 10: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio along with NPF Legislature Party TR Zeliang and Minister for Planning and Coordination Neiba Kronu today held separate discussions with Centre’s interlocutor AK Mishra and NSCN (IM) leadership in Delhi.
“We met AK Mishra at Nagaland House in the morning and NSCN (IM) leadership including chief negotiator Th Muivah, NSCN (IM) chairman Q Tuccu and vice chairman Tongmat Wangnao in at an undisclosed location in Delhi”, said an official without wanting to be named.
During the discussion, sources said the State Government team told the NSCN (IM) collective leadership that the Centre’s Interlocutor for the Naga talks has changed and that they have to be more practical to bring a solution at the earliest as has been the desire and expectation of Naga people.
“We have to apply our mind and wisdom to bring a solution”, the State Government team told the NSCN (IM).
The official also said that the Naga legislators have told the NSCN (IM) leaders that there may be some differences between them and the Government of India over certain issues but it is time to sort out the differences for solution.
Asked if they would also meet the Central leaders and national political parties to garner support, he said “first we have to do our home-work and prepare the ground only after that we would be meeting them”.
Nonetheless, he asserted that as facilitator, the State Government is pressurizing both the Central Government and NSCN (IM) that they must run faster to find solution.
