Oting killings: Condolence meet held at University of Madras

Dimapur, December 9: The All Tamil Nadu Students’ Association, Students’ Union of University of Madras, Naga Students’ Union Chennai and NCF Chennai jointly conducted a condolence programme for the victims of the December 4 and 5 killings at Mon district, at the main campus of University of Madras on December 9.
A press release informed that Sunil, Advisor to All Tamil Nadu Students’ Association and Students’ Union of University of Madras, expressed condolences and strong support from the Tamil people to the bereaved family members and to the people of Nagaland.
He also condemned the Indian security forces’ atrocities and killing of innocent civilians in Nagaland and appealed for the immediate repeal of AFSPA from Nagaland.
Meanwhile, Chibenthung, President of NSUC, also appealed for AFSPA to be repealed from Nagaland. He said it was not the first time AFSPA has been misused in Nagaland.
Wapangtoshi, President of North East India Welfare Association Chennai, and also the Pastor at NCF Chennai, condemned the incident and extended condolences to the bereaved family members of and wished speedy recovery to the injured people.
He thanked the people of Tamil Nadu for always standing up for the Northeast people for the right cause and also appreciated the Greater Chennai City Police for all the security arrangements for the programme.
