NSCB organizes business seminar in Dimapur

Dimapur, September 12: The Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd organized a business seminar cum capacity building program on cooperatives /SHGs/ JLGs/ businessmen for Dimapur District today in commemoration of golden jubilee year celebration. 

In his keynote address, Imtilemba Longkumer, Managing Director, spoke about history of the bank in brief and also how the bank is adopting various new strategies to suit the credit needs of the people. In view of golden jubilee year special attention was given to the adopted villages for financial inclusion and credit linkages, he said adding the best performing adopted villages and cooperative societies shall be awarded during the golden jubilee celebration.

Tiakala Ao, DGM, NABARD exhorted the beneficiaries of coming closer to the bank and availing various benefits. She advised the participants that availing the product, customers must be fully aware of the product and make right decisions not to regret in due course of time.

Lemba Chang, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Dimapur shared about how cooperative movement started with an objective come out from the clutches of money lenders and zamindari system in India. However he lamented that in Nagaland most of the cooperative societies are defunct which is very unfortunate.  He further stated that in due course of time defunct cooperative societies shall be cancelled and the defaulting societies shall be moved for legal action. 

Bendangnungsang, GM (Cr& Rvy) presented the various  credit products extended by the bank to individuals, groups, cooperative societies, educated employed youths, small marginal farmers and business enterprises. 

V K Disong shared the benefits on subscribing PMJJBY and PMSBY.

A K Deb GM (Accts & MIS) explained on the importance of maintaining books of accounts and other mandatories to be followed by cooperative societies and SHGs.
