Nagaland COVID-19 tally jumps to 3168

Dimapur, August 13: Nagaland on Thursday reported 50 new cases of COVID-19 taking the State’s tally to 3168. But with 1139 recoveries and 8 deaths, the total number of active cases in the State is 2015.
Out of the 50 new cases, 40 (Traced contacts – 27, Armed Forces – 11, Returnees – 2) were detected in Kohima; 5 in Zunheboto (Armed Forces – 5), 4 in Mon (Armed Forces – 4) and one in Dimapur (Traced contacts – 1).
With this, out of the 3168 total COVID-19 cases in the State, 1447 (45.7%) are from the Armed Forces; 1117 (35.3%) are returnees; 347 (11%) are traced contacts; 203 (6.4%) are frontline workers and others (cases related to NLA, Raj Bhavan, patients excluding returnees) – 54 (1.7%).
As per the severity of symptoms, 2011 active cases are asymptomatic, 2 are mild and 2 active cases are moderate. The positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection. (Page News Service)
