Dimapur, November 18: The Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) has welcomed the decision of the Urban Development Department in cancelling the e-Procurement Notice Invitation for Bids (IFB) dated 18th October, 2019.
In a release, KDCC president Kevi Vizo appreciated that the Department has accepted its appeal made through the local dailies to take cognizance that such tenders would only encourage corruption. It also lauded the sagacity of officials present at the 11th State Level Technical Committee meeting held on November 7 wherein it was decided to cancel the said tender.
The KDCC reiterated that no Government department should insert “such unwanted clauses” discouraging the contractors to bid lowest for any work. KDCC assured that it will continue to stand firm against any such corrupt practice followed by Government departments even in the days to come.
The release also opined that the Urban Development Department should divide various contract works as per colonies and wards so that the young upcoming entrepreneurs can take up the works easily.
