Nagaland News

Dimapur, November 11: The Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) has condemned the October 29 “treacherous act of the 1st Assam Rifles in breaking into the house” of Roko Angami, “a respectable person in the Naga society as a social activist and also an international footballer from Nagaland”.

In a press release issued on Thursday, the KDCC stated that, as per reports, the Assam Rifles, “the so-called friends of the hills people”, reacting on its false informers had “ransacked” the house of Roko Angami, who holds the post of VDB secretary of Zhadima Village and is also the President of the Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO).
“The KDCC opines that the Assam Rifles should desist from indulging in such nefarious activities based on false information in order to have cordial relationship with the common Naga people. The KDCC also stands in solidarity with Roko Angami as well as extends fullest support to the decisions of Angami Youth Organisation and NAYO in demanding justice,” it stated. (Page News Service)
