DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 14: The 9th edition of Dimapur Night Carnival, which was not held in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, commenced on Tuesday here at Super Market, paying tributes to the victims of the December 4 incident at Oting Village and the following unrest.
DC Dimapur, who inaugurated the carnival, stated that the pandemic had hampered all activities severely, but things have improved and improving, and this has made the carnival this year possible.
He called the carnival a “happy turn of events” for all and applauded the organizers for creating a platform for entrepreneurs, budding businessmen, as well as those who want to showcase their talents. He urged the people to make good use of the platform and the opportunity for the 5 days.
District administration, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), and East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) collaborated to organize the carnival. During the first day of the carnival, more than 150 stalls were put up with food stalls serving ethnic cuisine, beverages, accessories, and various forms of entertainment.
The carnival will culminate on December 18.
