DDADU dissolved; election on Sept 24

Dimapur, September 15: The Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (DDADU) has informed that election to elect the union president will be held on September 24.
In a release, DDADU election commissioner, Vikato Assumi informed that the presidential election was necessitated following direction from the Labour Commissioner office, Kohima on August 19 last.
Till the election, the office of the DDADU stands dissolved from September 16.
The release informed that DDADU executive had on August 1, 2019 selected Tito Yeptho as president with two-third majority and the office was functioning smoothly since that day.
In accordance with the Labour Commissioner’s directive, the release informed that a meeting of DDADU executive council was held on September 14 and unanimously appointed Vikato Assumi as election commissioner, and Temjen Longkumer & P Chumdemo Murry as assistant election commissioners.
The election has set the following dates for the election process: Nomination day – September 18 & 19; Scrutiny – September 20; Withdrawal – September 21 and Polling day and declaration – September 24.
The release informed that only the executive council members for the tenure 2016 to 2019 will be eligible for the voting as per Article XI of DDADU constitution. (Page News Service)
