COVID-19 Nagaland: 24 new cases, 21 recoveries & 1 death


KOHIMA, OCTOBER 7: Nagaland’s COVID-19 positive cases rose to 31,397 with detection of 24 fresh infections while death toll stood at 668 today.

“24 positive cases detected today are – Dimapur: 13, Kohima & Mokokchung: 5 each and Phek: 1”, said State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Dr Nyanthung Kikon in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
He also said that 21 positive patients ~ Dimapur, Kohima & Mokokchung: 6 each, Kiphire: 2 and Peren: 1 ~ recovered during the last 24 hours taking the recovered persons tally to 29,411 with the recovery rate at 93.67%.
There are 313 active patients, of who 62 have mild symptoms, 6 each are moderate and 15 severe while 230 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
A positive patient’s demise in Dimapur district increased the death toll in the State to 668, of which 15 had co-morbid conditions, he said.
Altogether 1,005 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other States, he said.
Thus far, a total of 379,801 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland. It includes 110,024 on RT-PCR, 83,746 on TrueNat and 186,031 on Rapid Antigen Test, Dr Kikon said.
A total of 10,90,985 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 693,643 persons as on Wednesday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State, 60,942 are frontline workers, 15,996 are healthcare professionals, 199,185 are people above 45 years and 417,520 in the 18 to 44 years age group, he said.

A total of 396,890 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine completing the full course of vaccination. They comprise 47,565 frontline workers, 13,294 healthcare workers, 142,802 people above 45 years and 193,229 in the 18 to 44 years age group, said Dr Thurr. (Page News Service)
