DIMAPUR, MARCH 14: Sixty-five landowners ~ an overwhelming majority of them from D Khel, Kohima Village ~ have filed a court case against Nagaland Government and National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) in connection with the 2-lane Kohima by-pass road.
As per the writ petition filed by the landowners, the process started by the authorities to survey the land construction has been done “without following any provisions of law under Land Acquisition Act”.
During the hearing held on Monday before the Kohima Bench of Gauhati High Court, the Additional Advocate General of Nagaland submitted that due process has already been initiated in respect of acquisition of land.
In his order, Justice AD Choudhury listed the matter to be heard again on March 22 and directed the Additional Advocate General to obtain instruction regarding his statement that land acquisition process has already been initiated. (Page News Service)
