Dimapur, October 21: The fourth edition of ‘Thuwu-Ni’, an outdoor festival that provides a combined integrated platform for local art, culture, farmer’s market, tourism and exposure to new ideas and opportunities for the local villagers of Pughoboto, in an attempt to bring positive enlightenment and upliftment of the people from the area towards improvement in productivity, social progress and economic growth, is scheduled to take place from November 15 to 17, 2018. Thuwu-Ni 0.4 will be managed by Musik-A.
Giving details about the event and speaking on behalf of the organizers, Alobo Naga informed the media fraternity here at Hope Café, Duncan Bosti that the three-day festival this year will have different events like Thuwuni Indigenous Games and Sports Olympic (TIGSO), Thuwuni Music Festival (TMF), Thuwuni Rural Adventure (Celebrating Indigenous Lifestyle), Taste of Aphuyemi (local cuisines & organic local brews), and Last Man Standing (Akikiti championship). The festival has been themed ‘Back to the Woods’.
Thuwu-Ni festival, with the theme “celebrating indigenous lifestyle” started in 2014 and attracted a footfall of over 30,000 visitors and tourists. The two venues for the event will be Pughoboto Ground and Natsumi Outdoor Stadium.
It was informed during the interaction that the cost of tickets for entering the venues varies from Rs 250 (Regular, one day) to Rs 10,000 (VVIP, three days), more details about which can be availed from the official website www.thuwuni festival.com. Tickets will be available online as well as gate also.
The visitors of the event will have the option to stay at the Camping Village by paying a fee which will be setup by India Trail, home stay at Phugoboto or hotels of their choice. For home stay at Pughoboto one can contact 9862243460. The camping area tickets will be made available at www.indiatrial.org.
The organizers have also put in place various rules and regulations that the visitors will have to follow. For instance, the festival will be plastic free and the visitors can either bring their own water bottles or buy bamboo mugs from the venue. The entire festival will also follow a coupon system instead of cash transactions.
The artists/bands that will be performing in the Thuwuni Music Festival (TMF) include Lords of Rock (LOR), Paper Sky, former Indian Idol Sourabee Debbarma, Fine Mess from Manipur, Avora Records, Polar Lights, Julia Bliss of Russia, ROY from Mumbai, DJ Sumika and many others.
The festival will be inaugurated by Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya. (Page News Service)
