Dimapur, December 11: The 14 Tribal Hohos of Nagaland has condemned the incident which happened on the night of December 4 and 5 at Longkhao Area, Oting -Tint Road at Tizit Sub-Division of Mon District, where 14 innocent civilians were brutally killed by the 21 Para Special Force and 27 Assam Rifles respectively while leaving several of them severally injured.
The Hohos expressed anguish at the loss of the lives of Konyak brothers.
Stating that with the implementation of AFSPA, nothing good has happened rather it has caused to lose several innocent lives of Nagas, the Hohos demanded the Government of India to remove Armed Forces Special Power Act and initiate proper investigation without leaving any stone unturned.
Meanwhile, the 14 Tribal Hohos of Nagaland welcomed the decision of state Cabinet to apprise the Government of India to repeal the infamous Armed Force Special Power Act, which is nothing less than a mechanism to give opportunities for the glory hunters with the lives of innocent citizens of the largest democratic country in the world.
The hohos also supported the charter of demand laid down by the Konyak Union and said the same should be brought to light without any further delay.
The Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) during its General Body Meeting held at Zapami Village on December 10 condemned the December 4 and 5 incident by the 21 Para Special Force and 27 Assam Rifles at Oting-Tiru Road, under Mon District where several precious lives fell victim under the guise of AFSPA.
The house strongly felt that AFSPA be repealed at the earliest and allow one life to live in full without fear. The meeting also seriously viewed to the ongoing 2-lane road project under Chakhesang jurisdiction and resolved any unauthorized elements in the form of individual/groups/village/town trying to disturb or hamper the project without any valid reason shall be dealt with all seriousness.
The CPO also urged the competent authorities to be more proactive.
During the meeting speeches were delivered by Z Lohe, Former Speaker, Government of Nagaland and Rev. K Lürüo, Executive Secretary, CBCC and Former State Chaplain, Government of Nagaland.
The NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) has condemned the atrocities and ghastly act of the security forces against the innocent Nagas at Oting and Mon town.
The NSCN(R) stood by the people in demanding the repeal of AFSPA once and for all and punitive action to be taken against the erring jawans.
